Custom Stamped Cookies

SO I have a wicked plan that has just developed this morning.
See those beautiful cookies up there? Well they were created using
stamps... What if I created a custom stamp {like the one I created
for Mike and Sal's wedding, above} and created custom cookies
for our wedding using my custom designed stamp? Cute or no?

What do you think? Too much work or totally worth it?

Sunday

Wheatfield Posters... makes my heart skip a beat

Oh my gosh I am FORCING myself to practice willpower and
not to buy up all of these large format prints right now....  Aren't
they AMAZING? And wouldn't they add the most joyful amount
of color to your house that you could muster in one bundle?! Oh
my gosh I adore them so much. And they say such nice things. I
feel so inspired to create hand painted text right now. I am really
looking forward to creating some funky wedding invitations
with all of these inspirations!

And look at this one! {Wheatfield you have my heart for life}

Friday

The Summit of Awesome

Today I will be attending the Summit of Awesome.
It has finally come to Baltimore and I am so excited,
and even a little nervous to be honest. I can't wait to
report back the happenings of awesome that occurred!

UPDATE:
The Summit of Awesome was more Awesome that
expected, I met some really great and talented people
and learned a tremendous amount.

Things about Copyright and Trademark {I soaked that in
like it was the sun and I wanted a BURN!} it was good
information from an intellectual property lawyer.

And Social Media. I think I will ReEnter the world of
Twitter thanks to Willowtoons and Lish and their great
talk on social media.

I heard from Biggs & Featherbelle and Figs &
Ginger about wholesaling (wow have
they grown and they are getting bigger and bigger)

And Danielle from Etsy, if you 'Etsy' I am sure you've seen
Danielle, well she was there and gave us all some great
information on how to utilize Etsy to its fullest potential to
have the greatest success. Contact me if you want some
tidbits, I am happy to spread the word

And in the moments when there was no class to sit in on
we crafted (how fun) so there were no moments of awkward
silence between strangers, just fun crafty moments of creativity
between artists. I highly recommend hopping on board for
next years summt!

I'll be there!

Thursday

A Veil or not a Veil?

Would you ever consider wearing a colored veil?
I wasn't 100% behind the veil idea but I did want something
to spruce up my hair.

Than I stumbled across that image up top
of the beautiful bride with the scarf in her hair... amazing.
Right?! Couldn't you imagine an outdoor wedding with a
really beautiful handpainted scarf in your hair. {Than you
can wear it again and again too!} I like the first one listed
the best. Any thoughts?

PS. You can find more beautifully hand painted scarves
at Silk Couture by Takuyo have fun!

Wednesday

Kiki and Polly

Just some more reasons that we LOVE Kiki & Polly, and their
amazing art. I adore those colors. I want our wedding to be the
colors of the bottom painting... {xox}

Sketchbook Scans

I stumbled upon Design Instruct's 50 beautiful Sketchbook Scans
this morning and I had to share some of them. Taking a page out of some
sketchbooks is like diving into another universe. I love seeing the way
some artist's minds work...
 Allen Sutton
 David Fullarton
 Joshua Philippe
 Mattias Adolfsson
 Nacho-Yague
And a couple from my sketchbook, just to throw in the mix.

And a page from my talented grandmother's sketchbook. {xox}

Persist

Inspired by Steve Jobs and his amazing persistence....
here is a note from Pixar.

Imagine if Steve Jobs had given up after being fired
from Apple... No Pixar, No iPod, iPad, iTunes, iPhone he
changed the world. That was persistant.

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." Steve Jobs

Please don't forget to Persist. Think of the alternative.

Friday

This Weekend...

This weekend I am interested in conversations over coffee and
wearing sweaters with sunglasses. I am dying for the fresh fall
sun and the crispy breeze. I am pretty sure world peace could be
accomplished if everyone got to experience some open aired
fall days and some warm coffee {and maybe a danish of some
sort} who doesn't smile over danishes?

In the interest of World Peace...Lets all wear sunglasses
and eat a danish this weekend. Its important.

A trip around the World...

A couple months ago, Coolhunter posted about the amazing
places to go around the globe... and I just happened to stumble
upon them this morning. I have not yet mopped up the drool
on my chin. Are these not some of the most amazing snapshots
of the world you have ever seen? This is only a taste of the
bits of the globe that Coolhunter showcased, for more visit the site

I grew up in a family that always treasured the value of travel and the
experience that came with seeing the beauty of the earth. {So my heart
is just skipping beats looking at these pictures}

Recently Dave and I had been saving up to skip
town and go on a short vacation to the islands... but now that
we are engaged {!} we are putting that money together and
adding to it for the next year to save up for somewhere big {!}
Honeymoon Huge Baby! And we had Italy in mind but now I am
thinking of looking into Norway or Alberta Canada... oh the world
is so huge and lovely! Any suggestions?
