Wednesday

Drinks anyone?

Don't let your drink dribbles get you down!
Protect your tables in style. Aren't these wooden
doily coasters from Uncommon so adorable?

I think they would make the perfect house warming
or hostess gift. Or the perfect "its Wednesday,
Im in a rut and need to get a cute package in the
mail soon gift" it suites all needs really.
I think they are positively adorable!

Tuesday

Custom Invitation Design, Happy Birthday Cutie!

Meant•for•a•Moment had the pleasure of creating
these custom invitations for little cutie Lily's 2nd birthday.
We went with a 'two' theme can you tell?
What do you think?

Monday

Party time.

So One of my Best Friends is getting married...{!}
And I am the Maid of Honor!
That puts me in charge of putting together the
most amazing bachelorette party ever. I have
been racking my brain to figure how to make
that happen. This morning I came across these images.
She is a pretty low key girl... wouldn't it be AMAZING
if I used helium and found a way to cover every inch
of the ceiling in brilliantly colored balloons?!
She would adore it!

Saturday

Work hard and...

Well, its Saturday.

Today, I am working but I thought I would
take a break and grace you all with this super
cute poster from Sweet Home Style. Because,
whats the use of working hard and getting
ahead if everyone hates you?

Its my opinion that being nice to people
is an important reminder.

So my lovely readers, thank you for stopping in,
and have I told you how lovely you look today?

Friday

Double Chocolate Friday!

Oh My Gooey Chocolate Gotta Have it!
Happy Friday {Eat Double!}

Nonstick vegetable oil spray
1 1/2 cups bittersweet chocolate chips (about 9 ounces), divided
3 large egg whites, room temperature
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, divided (I used 2 cups)
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray 2 large baking sheets
with nonstick spray. Melt 1 cup chocolate chips
in glass bowl in microwave, stirring
twice, about 2 minutes. Cool slightly.
Using electric mixer, beat whites in large bowl to
soft peaks. Gradually beat in 1 (I halved the sugar
here) cup sugar. Continue beating until mixture resembles
soft marshmallow creme. Whisk 1 cup sugar, cocoa,
cornstarch, and salt in medium bowl to blend. On low
speed, beat dry ingredients into meringue. Stir in
lukewarm chocolate and 1/2 cup chocolate
chips (dough will become very stiff).

Place 1/2 cup sugar in bowl. Roll 1 rounded tablespoon
dough into ball; roll in sugar, coating thickly. Place on
prepared sheet. Repeat with remaining dough, spacing
2 inches apart. Bake until puffed and tops crack, about
10 minutes. Cool on sheets on rack 10
minutes. Transfer to rack; cool.

Yield: Makes about 18

Thursday

Wake-Up Call

So...If you have trouble waking up in the morning
consider this money shredding alarm clock. That would
sure rip you out of your slumber wouldn't it?

Can you imagine dashing to the alarm clock in a panic
every morning? Stubbing your toes and throwing your cat
over your shoulder to make it on time. All in the name of
waking up on time. Now thats commitment.

Wednesday

Books for Kids

{Best Title too}

{BEST interactive!}

{I remember my Dad reading this series to me night
after night until we made it through all three books...
its ALWAYS been one of my favorites...xox}

Yesterday, I was DELIGHTED to visit Design Mom
and see that Gabrielle had compiled a list of the
TOP 50 Picture books for kids... Oh Joy! I pulled
out a few of my Favorite-Favs from her list but urge
you to visit and check out the entire list yourself.
Its like a trip down memory lane {xox}

The only books I would add to her fabulous list are;
{But I guess in a list limited to 50, someone
has to get cut...sigh.}

Enjoy the Trip...

Tuesday

Wheat anyone?

Gluten FREE?!
Thats me for the next ten days. I am testing a theory and
seeing if it helps my migraines...hoping!
Does anyone have any advice?

Monday

Botanical Prints = LOVE

Don't these photographs from Miles of Light remind you of a zen garden?
Imagine a white wall and three of these prints lined along it.
... I feel calmer already ...

Cute little Onesie.

Oh my goodness. CUTE!
I don't have any twins in my family so the odds of
having twins are pretty low, but aren't these
onesies oh so cute!? Do Twins run in your family?

Friday

Feeling Preppy?

I found this adorable photograph of this woman
and I absolutely adore her outfit.
I love her layers, her red lipstick, pale pink shoes
her big shiny pearls and her amazing sunglasses.
(And coming from someone with 'cankles' I even admire her skinny ankles)
It makes me want to go into my closet and layer all of my favorite button ups..
{xox} I've been inspired for my day.

Than I found this photograph at I feel Preppy and I thought
"Surely this Man is searching for that Woman"
Wouldn't they make a great pair?

Thursday

A question for everyone...

I have a QUESTION.

Have you ever been really mistreated in business?

I just had my designs stolen from me. Yes. Stolen, admittedly so, and proudly used.
How would you deal with that?

What a sassy package

Oh come on. I would buy this even if I didn't need soap.
This is brilliant marketing. I adore the line underneath that reads
"Help is on the way" it makes me feel like the little soaps
are mini super heros. I love them.

Tuesday

A Garden Themed Wedding...

This season I had the honor of working with Mike
and Sal, to create their wedding invitations. They
are getting married by the water and having a
garden themed wedding, so asked for a 'wildflower look'.

Here is our final result.
I created custom watercolors for each piece
{including map!} and bundled it all together
with a custom designed wrap around. What do you think.
Congratulations Mike and Sal {xox}

Well, back to reality.

Well, I am back from my super sunny relaxing
weekend by  the dock of the bay {xox} My
older sister and her husband flew in and the entire
family was together, for a rare treat. Their dog,
Ollie and Cricket became best friends fast and I am
dreaming of sipping my coffee there this morning.

But, Dave and I hit the road before the sun this
morning and here I am back at my desk. I find
that although the transition from vacation to work
is always very difficult, I am looking forward to today.
My hands miss the flow of the lead on the paper
and my brain is aching for some creativity.

So here we go. And first up... a post about these awesome
scarves by French Felt. I like to wrap myself in scarves
in the evenings during the summer, because around here
sometimes the bugs can be a nuisance
these would be absolutely perfect, don't you think?

Friday

The Weekend is Upon us... let us celebrate Independence

What are you Lovelies up to this holiday weekend?
My Sister and her Husband will be in town, from
California, for the 4th of July so we will be
spending it by the bay {xox}.

This has always been one of my favorite weekends
out of the year (along with Christmas) because my
entire family gets together for a couple of days and relaxes.

Being at the shore is sort of like forced relaxation,
you have your choice between; fishing, boating,
kayaking, reading, biking, jogging, bocci, napping,
munching, floating...gazing... its a rough life.

Looking forward to our own fireworks display!
What will you be getting into this weekend?

Sparkle

So it's Fourth of July Weekend Cats.
Grab those Sparklers and put them to good use. xox

Did you ever do this when you were a kid?
Me being such a poor speller, always drew stuff...
like circles and hearts (I was always an advanced
child, haha) Cheers to our country!~
and to everything that sparkles in the night!
