Lets HANG out

So yesterday I came across this moose coat hanger... and I loved it so much I BOUGHT IT! Isn't it adorable? I've been looking around my house all morning imagining where I will hang it. I can't wait to re-negotiate my wall space and find a perfect home for my new coat hanger. {!} eee!

I purchased it from Monkey and Squirrel's esty shop. {Which is equally as adorable as my moose}

Oh nothing honey... Just rafting around the Atlantic

Check out this adorable story about an 85-year-old sailor who just  sailed around the Atlantic with three friends on the above raft. It took them 66 days. {WoW!} When accused that such a journey was "mad". His response was, "But it wasn't mad. What else do you do when you get on in years?"

I like his style. And check out that boat/raft, holy moly. 

Where Children Sleep

I came across this amazing photographic documentary of "where children sleep" by James Mollison

It really puts things into perspective doesn't it? ... and my heart is melting over some of those bedrooms.

Oh I could just take them into my own house... xox

Oh that wall!

This wall paper makes me want to redo the walls in my entire house. (Seriously)

And I might be after some cute yellow boots too. 

I just love this scene. 

I found the photo on flickr so I have not idea how to find this specific wall paper but I did find a way to design your own wall paper. Wouldn't it be cute to have custom illustrated wall paper?

Bell Pepper Egg-in-a-hole

(recipe EVERYDAY Food Magazine)

2 teaspoons olive oil

1 bell pepper (any color) cut into four 1/2 inch thick rings

4 large eggs

coarse salt and ground pepper

2 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese

4 slices multi-grain bread (I use English Muffins)

In a large cast-iron skillet or nonstick pan, heat oil over medium high heat. Add bell pepper and cook for 1 minute. Crack 1 egg into the middle of each pepper ring. Season with salt & pepper and cook until the egg whites are mostly set but yolks are still runny, 2 to 3 minutes. Gently flip and cook 1 minute more for over easy. Sprinkle with Parmesan and place egg on a slice of toast- or serve with an English muffin like I did!

Wow! What a great idea! I am dying to try this out now.

Charles Schultz LOVE LETTERS (melt my heart)

This weekend Dave and I headed up to Tom's River to spend time with his family. We had a great time and we enjoyed some really delicious treats! {yum}

On our way up we stopped at the Reading Market in Philadelphia and on the same block was Studio 1026 that was hosting an exhibit of LOVE LETTERS from Charles Schultz... 

Yes of corse we stopped in! 

I read every single letter while Dave watched the people down below from the window. 

I laughed (a lot) I sighed and smiled through the entire exhibit. 

The tender glimpse into this talented cartoonist mind was endearing. 

He was so in love with "Tracy, Tracy, Tracy" as he called her. Reminding her that she is like no one else in the world and to call her well adjusted or normal was a crime. 

Their obvious long distance relationship was chronicled perfectly by his letters and sketches 

and allowed us to watch their relationship grow...

  I could do it all over again today if I was closer.

Above are my submissions to the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Bulletin. 

It's very cool that they have an open submission process for articles and artwork. If you are lucky enough to be chosen your illustration/article is included in there bi-monthly bulletin... 

Wouldn't it be stellar to be included?!

I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Isn't this a great idea? AZcreative Studio took antique silver trays and painted the inside

with chalkboard paint to create these fancy chalkboards.

I can see them looking really spiffy at a wedding, informing people of the drink options 

or with a special quote on them... Don't you think!?

And the best part is you can do it yourself!

Want to know what I have been up to? Well... I have been designing a lot of Logos lately, 

and I thought I would toss one into the posts today...

On March 2nd I had the delight of reading to the Kindergarden at Odenton Elementary School...

And I also had the joy of "over doing it" by coming dressed as the Cat in the Hat...

Receiving comments like: "Are you the cat in the hat?"

"No, she can't be the Cat in the Hat, the Cat in the Hat is a boy."

"Well, Are you the Cat in the Hat's Sister?"

To which I replied, "Yes, of corse."

To which they replied, "Where is your Brother the real Cat in the Hat?"

"California." I said... It seemed the only logical response... and it was well received...

Kids are too adorable for words... 

I just recieved this "Fan Mail" {be still my heart}

Check out the Bats and Bones... I am not sure what it means but I am totally sure I love it!

What are you up to this weekend? It looks like I will be working through the weekend but I am hoping to squeeze in some down time in the evenings or maybe even a trip out on the town!

Collections of Colors... Its so simple but I love it. 

I wonder if I collected all different colors from my house and grouped them, what my grouping would look like. This is also a good idea for kids... and very pretty, don't you think?
