Illustration Inspiration: Chris Sanders

Happy Illustration Inspiration Day! Today's feature showcases the amazingly
creative and super adorable sketches of Chris Sanders. Chris Sanders has worked
as a story artist on The Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin
and The Lion King, before he was made head of story on Mulan. And he is the
creative genius behind, our beloved little monster movie, Lilo and Stitch in which
he wrote, boarded and directed. Beside's Chris's incredible resume he is an
impressively skilled artist capable of creating this amazing larger than life
creatures that can scare you *&@# out of you or melt your heart. xo

I am totally in love with the creative liberties he has taken on the children
he draws and the monsters he dreams up.

Thanks for the Inspiration Chris!

Thursday

A day in the life... Norman Rockwell

These Illustrations are entitled, "A Day in the Life of a Little Boy/Girl"
I posted them today because they kind of melted my heart, Look
how each child wakes up and falls asleep. And in between look at their
facial expressions. I could just stare at these illustrations forever.
It would be impossible to do this with words. Norman Rockwell is a genius.

Don't you love those big ears on that little boy? And that dog he is sleeping with!
Have a great Thursday 'boys and girls'.

Wednesday

Dashing around today...

Its been a busy day here. I have been finishing up projects and working fastidiously on my novel synopsis that just seems impossible to write.
It is possible I may have written the most complicated book ever.
But it does feel good to wrap some work up around here. Here is a taste of some illustrations I have been working on for Market Early America, a company who caters to Museums and assists with their marketing and book keeping. We have been making final tweaks today and I think they are looking quite  dapper! This evening I am heading to a meeting about a second jewelry line, crossing my fingers that I have created some winning pieces.

Something Daper

because no ones day is complete without some stellar illustrations, these clever little drawings are from the hands of bad turtleneck
Is it weird that I really love Norms daper outfit? He is such a cutie...

Monday

A little Nikki Catalano for your Morning

In my daily quests for inspiration I have fallen upon Australian artist, Nikki Catalano. Her soft colored creations remind me of Japanese anime with a quiet, child-like twist. I love all that beautiful texture that  has my eyes happily dancing all over the colorful print. And those love birds...
{ can I take them home with me? }.

Just something to grin about

Just had to post these clever illustrations, artist unknown, found via found.
I love the witty humor and the classic feel of the sketchy line.
love love love

Hope this helps pulls a smile across your face this rainy Monday.
Until we meet again, keep grinning.

Penguin Love

Something about this minimalist approach has my heart going pitter patter. The use of negative space has me swooning all over the page and that fat little baby penguin love, I just cant get enough of.
