In the Shadows with Alexey Bednji

I am completely wowed by Russian Artist, Alexey Bednij's cool shadow photography.
The dark shadows create a pattern reminiscent of M.C. Esher's drawings and have me
totally confused and totally compelled at the same time.

Friday

The Black and White Photography of Wayne Levin

I love the beautiful photography of Wayne Levin. To me, each photo a moment in
time where Art and Adventure collide and create something totally timeless.
Happy Friday to you my Friends. I hope your weekend is timeless.

Thursday

Tadaocern {Hysterical}

Is this cracking anyone else up?
Tadaocern left his job as an Architect in 2010 to follow his dream and become a photographer.
He now fills his time traveling for personal projects and commisions. This collection is a
small sample of his hysterical Blow Job Series. Please do yourself a favor and visit his
site and watch the video {!} It will make your day!

Monday

'Obviously', Audrey Corregan

I was drawn to Audrey Corregan's photographic series titled 'Obviously' specifically
because of that brown bird at the bottom left. I couldn't quite place it until I saw the
other bird portraits. It almost looks furry... Birds are interesting creatures aren't they?
The fact that they can fly puts them pretty high on the coolness scale as well. And
in this series, it almost seems like they are angry with us. Its like they have nothing to say
to us and are deep in thought about how we have shamed them. Its interesting the 'wise'
persona that some birds have been given, isn't it? Like all of them are 1000 years old and
know so many more years of knowledge then we do...

Thursday

Maddie the Agile Coon Hound...

This is Maddie the Coon Hound. I stumbled upon this awesome site this morning
entitled, "Maddie on Things" and it made my day. How adorable is this hound and
her adventuresome little spirit. You should check out the site, because Maddie gets
on some pretty crazy things... Jungle Gyms, Fence Posts, Mail boxes, all with the
stunning grace of a coon hound. Just had to share... hope it makes you smile.

Monday

It has been a blustery busy week here *I thank my stars* but boy

Love is in the air. {xox} On the Eastern Shore of Cambridge

beautiful friends to get married.

Pictures to follow!

PS. Don't you love this image? I can't figure out who to
credit for it. I found it via ffffound.com with no
proper trace back. If you know who the artist
I would love to know. This image is amazing.

Great News!
I finally broke down and got myself a Digital SLR Camera.
And Oh how good it feels.
I have been inspired by my new camera eyes.
And I am enjoying photography everywhere.

Here are a few black and whites from
around the web that caught my eye:

The excitement is pouring out of me, I could just DANCE.

Don't you LOVE the linear aspect of these?
How romantic.

{Cheers My Lovely Readers}
Have a romantic day.

Friday

A love story session...

I stumbled across Baltimore photographer Leo Djiwatampu this morning and I fell in love with this Story Sequence that Allison and Evan used for their engagement photos. First may I say, I love that red dress, {like I love it so much I could take it home and where to sleep in, so much}. Secondly, what a creative idea! I haven't considered a story sequence created for this occasion before and now I am mixing up all sorts of ideas in my head. Man, don't you love that red dress? My heart is all 'aflutter' for it.

Wednesday

Move as Millions Survive as One... Thats whats they say on National Geographic's new Great Migrations Series. Have you guys seen it yet? It is blowing my mind. It is kind of like the Discovery Channels earth except it has that huge spanning scenes of hundreds of animals moving in unity all the time. It is beautiful and will take your breath away.

Sunday

I stumbled across Jan Smith's photography this morning and had to post...
500 ship wrecks... its eeiry and romantic and downright sad, but so lovely...

An amazing life through a view finder

Hey Readers, I came across something really cool yesterday that pulled on my heart strings {mega}. I had to share... This Man:
started a blog called "Photo of the day" in March 31, 1979 and took a polaroid a day through October 25, 1997. The evidence below:
His name is Jamie Livingston... the viewer follows him through his life, catching a glimpse through the view finder once a day everyday for almost 20 years... than our photographer gets sick, it is clear that it is cancer:
On October 5, 1997 we see this:
and two days later:
he is married...
but just a few weeks later Jamie passes away...
His photos were saved and were made into a photographic exhibit... it seems heroic almost to be able to photograph such a vulnerable time of your life and remain committed to such a project in such a hard time... check out the site, you will fall in love with the endearing photographs, of the people you don't know {at first} but trust me... you get to know someone through their view finder...

Thursday

just because sometimes I am weird ... and sometimes (I would like to think of myself as lovely)
