Want to know what I have been up to? Well... I have been designing a lot of Logos lately, 

and I thought I would toss one into the posts today...

This one was created for a lovely woman in California. 

The golden poppy is the California State flower. What do ya think?

On March 2nd I had the delight of reading to the Kindergarden at Odenton Elementary School...

And I also had the joy of "over doing it" by coming dressed as the Cat in the Hat...

Receiving comments like: "Are you the cat in the hat?"

"No, she can't be the Cat in the Hat, the Cat in the Hat is a boy."

"Well, Are you the Cat in the Hat's Sister?"

To which I replied, "Yes, of corse."

To which they replied, "Where is your Brother the real Cat in the Hat?"

"California." I said... It seemed the only logical response... and it was well received...

Kids are too adorable for words... 

I just recieved this "Fan Mail" {be still my heart}

Check out the Bats and Bones... I am not sure what it means but I am totally sure I love it!

What are you up to this weekend? It looks like I will be working through the weekend but I am hoping to squeeze in some down time in the evenings or maybe even a trip out on the town!

Collections of Colors... Its so simple but I love it. 

I wonder if I collected all different colors from my house and grouped them, what my grouping would look like. This is also a good idea for kids... and very pretty, don't you think?

I stumbled across a cool famous letterhead site today called letterheady and 

fell in love with Charles Shultz's letterhead. Whats not to love? 

Harry Houdini's letter head was kind of cool too.

I am feeling inspired now... oh the possibilities.

Check out these Leaves...

Check these leaf silhouettes. I am kind of amazed right now looking at these portraits. 

Jenny Lee Fowler creates paper cut out of silhouettes on etsy, but she took it a step further by 

applying her style to leaves. I think the veins in the leaves add to the "life" of the subject and

it just thrills me... bravo!

Ideas for Re-use.

After yesterdays Beautiful weather I was feeling the itch to get the house cleaned up and rejuvenated for Spring. Dave and I had pulled two very old, very beautiful wooden mantles from my grand parent's attic this winter and we have been brainstorming on uses for them. Originally we planned to store them until we had a family and use them as twin bed frames {cute right?}

But yesterday, I thought I would try this out. Why wait right?

I put one in our living room...

What do you think? The wood has a rustic look to it and I am considering refinishing them one day. But for now, I am totally thrilled with what they have done to enhance the room!

Smoothie Hearts {xox}

After finishing my run yesterday I was having a hard time refocusing on work because the weather 

was so beautiful. So I headed to my kitchen for something to eat. Or if I was being honest, I was desperately looking for a distraction.

 I had frozen fruit in my fridge so I headed to work to make a smoothie. But than I was struck by this brilliant, mad scientist idea that my smoothies should be ice cubes so I could eat them all the time! (Brilliant Right?)

I pulled this adorable little ice tray out of my cabinet and started shoveling the Peach Berry smoothie into each slot.

Leaving some extra for my to enjoy, of corse.

And the result was amazing! Little smoothie hearts. 

The best part is, when you chew on these they kind of melt in your mouth and all the chunks of fruit start popping up in each bite!

So delicious!

Lucky?

With the world on the state it is in I think most of us can consider ourselves lucky for waking up in a bed this morning to share another day. Happy St Patricks Day, what will you be doing to celebrate?

Something Screwy is going on here...

As I look at the details of this Screw Art by Andrew Myers my jaw gets closer and closer to the floor. 

Imagine the time it takes to make each piece. Not only does he have to pre-screw each hole. He has to draw the art, screw in all the screws and adjust their height than he paints the screw heads...{!}

Just a peek...

I have not been very good at posting my current projects this year. {sorry!}

But I have been dying to give you all a little peek at my latest book project. 

I have been working with Lauren Wade, the author, to bring her cute book 

about a boy and his police officer Dad to life. 

We are getting closer to print everyday! We expect this book to go be available by the end of April!

Can't Wait! Stay tuned!

This morning I fell in love... it was love at first sight.

I have been dreaming up clever ideas for an alphabet print for a few months now...

It turns out it is harder than it looks. 

I keep getting the "its all been done before blues"

But aren't these prints clever?

My internet is craaaaawling today and it is testing my patience a little more than I would like at 8am.
