Look at these beautiful map illustrations by Matthew Cusick.
Couldn't you see one of those swirling blue ocean ones really large hanging on your white library wall?
Oh xox!

Cricket!

Ok the big news has arrived!
CRICKET IS HERE!!! She is Perfect in EVERY WAY, except that she has some major separation anxiety when I leave. Hopefully that will pass and we can be one big happy family.

Isn't she amazing? Look at those little crickety hind legs.
She has been so good in the house. She just follows me everywhere and she sleeps next to our bed happily. She is good on a leash just happy to walk next to us.
Yesterday Dave and I took her to the beach and she trotted along in the water a bit so hopefully she will be a brave little water dog...(cross your fingers)

We are working on commands. So far she has no clue... but we are getting there...
Sit. Stay. Here...Etc.

Welcome Home Cricket!
(ugh, we both look very groggy, first thing in the morning, but so in love!)

Gotta have it.

Amazing Dress.
Red lipstick is the perfect accessory. xox

Cards anyone?

This weekend we spent some time with one of my best friends and she always teaches me some of the best cards games. I really LOVE cards games, but if there is one thing I know about my self... it is that I lack the patience to read directions.
So I always have to wait for her to learn one, and than teach me..
Its a system that works really well, despite the fact that she usually kicks my butt the first time we play together. (I am better at losing than her tho, so I guess its the best, ha)

So we played Canasta. Have you played that before?
It was amazingly fun. And terribly hard not to cheat. I highly recommend breaking out a deck and trying it out. And wouldn't it be a bonus if the deck looked like this?

Fancy huh?
I think the next round of indulgence may be elegant card decks. What do you think?

New Dress a Day

Have you all heard of the Blog "New dress a day" its pretty amazing and the girl who does it is adorable.
She gets a new {out of date} dress every day and re-fashions it so it is hip and trendy and looks hip with the times. She just signed a book deal and I am so happy for her.
Check out her blog for more of her work, here.

Just a treat

Isn't this cuff from Blackoak Jewelry lovely?

Wednesday

A Southern Wedding.

As promised, here are the beautiful pictures from the wedding we went to in Charleston this weekend.
It was filled with Southern Charm. The bride was beautiful and wore creamy poofy gourgeous dress that fit her oh so perfectly... and her veil had pieces of her mothers wedding dress in it,
Jenny, that was so pretty!

Documented epic game of Croquet...

Oh that checker board dance floor. It was a little quiet on the dance floor so Dave and I went out and stirred it up a little bit... We can never resist a good Dance Party. xox
What a good looking wedding party!

She threw the bouquet after cutting a rug on the balcony... {too cute}...
No, I did not catch it.

Perfect photo opp. Could not resist.
Yes, that little spec in the top right corner is the dolphin that came in for a visit.
What a beautiful addition to the vista.
The beautiful old trees, covered in spanish moss with swings...
were an amazing way to top of the evening.

The bride and groom left the reception by boat and watched fire works that we set off the dock. Then they met everyone over at Salty Mike's Dock Bar for some more late night celebrating!

Congratulations Chris and Jenny, You will be amazing.
Love from both of us!

Tuesday

Croquet anyone?

Have you guys played croquet lately?
I had a weekend filled with yard games. It was wonderful.

Starting with the wedding in Charleston that hosted an epic game of croquet right next to the water's edge at sunset (amazing). So have you played lately? Its really quite fun! 'Roshambos' and all!

Have you heard of corn hole yet? If not you are missing out. I am ridiculously bad...
but working on my skills for the next round...
More about my fabulous weekend to follow!

PS: Today is a GIANT day for me... Keeping it a secret until I have pictures for you guys...
Stay tuned! Can't wait!

Wednesday

Heading on Vacation.

Please excuse me. I am heading on a vacation! For the next five days I will be
in the beautiful town of Charleston, South Carolina, celebrating the marriage of two friends of ours,
and unable to post daily. But I will return rejuvenated and quite possibly sunburnt on Tuesday.

It is my first visit down there and I am excited to see the sites.
Stay posted for a photographic re-cap.
And big news to announce when I return so Stay Posted!

Love to you all!
Have a Wonder-filled Holiday weekend!
~Tara

Vintage + Upcycled = LOVE

Love these. I just do. Period.

Tuesday

Glamorous, Boho.

Dave and I are heading down to Charleston for a Wedding this weekend and I have been swooning over summer dresses and all the cutest styles. Hoping to find a new dress to wear while I was down there seeing the sites. I stumbled across this fossil necklace from Urban Outfitters and it prompted me to scour the internet in search of an outfit to match it...

Its a pretty cool necklace right? I think its jazzy enough it can be dressed up or dressed down, depending on how you where it. So I fell in love with this Glam/bohemian look... And WISH it was in my closet right now and not floating around in cyber space. What do you think of those shoes?
Charleston Here I come!

I'm just sayin'

Isn't that a large part of it all?

Monday

DIY Table Runner

LOVE vintage doilies. And I am swimming in them at the moment.
So when I came across this adorable table runner I thought "Brilliant" What a great idea. I love how some have a vintage tea stained look and some are bright white. If you put a mason jar of
wild flowers over that it would send it over the top for sure.

Get organized.

My Cork Boards are starting to get dis-organized. I am falling in love with this clip board idea.
One job per clip board, I could get into that. Really dig those colors too!

Friday

Happy Friday...

Happy Friday Everyone,
I hope you Have this kind of weekend.

Filled with lots of over the top adorable love scene moments.

(Didn't you love this movie?)

yup...

Love this.
Need this.
Gotta have this.

White walls... keep 'em? Cover 'em?

AAAAAMEN!
Please see below for evidence.
via Bri Emry's Pinterest post about swank lofts.

Even though I am often drawn it the airy open-ness of it, I have trouble keeping a white wall, white.

I tend to smatter every bit of art and self expression that I have up on my walls. So naturally I really like these frame collages. I do think there is a certain art to a frame collage.
*Find a focal point. * Use Delicate Fames.
* Use Simple piece of artwork that won't compete with each other. etc.

I may not be the expert. But I am really digging this vintage collection...
mixed with all sorts of old and new photos. It looks kind of glamorous doesn't it?

I grew up in a house where there was art work on the walls and family photos on the tabletops.
So I am not sure if I will ever venture into the world of a photo-collaged wall, but I think if I spent some time with it, it could be really awesome.

I actually remember seeing a few blog posts, about a year ago, of someone who blew up (poster size on canvas) a really bright candid photo and hung it over their sofa.
And I thought I could surely get into that, I just didn't have the right photo for it yet...
But I suppose its something to work on.

How do you feel about white walls? Keep 'em or cover 'em?
